新聞遊戲在近年來成為資訊傳遞以及促進利社會行為意願的重要新聞傳播方式,國際以及台灣媒體積極透過新聞遊戲引起閱聽人對於新聞議題的關注。透過遊玩新聞遊戲,閱聽人能透過遊戲的設計機制來理解複雜的議題架構,並代入角色體驗遊戲中的挑戰,也即是新聞事件本身。過往研究多關注於比較新聞遊戲與其他新聞傳遞的模式,以互動性探究閱聽人的感知與反應,卻忽略了遊戲結果成敗所帶來的影響。本研究論述結果成敗是遊戲影響閱聽人後續情緒的重要結構性因素。新聞透過遊戲的方式傳遞,在分析其閱聽人的感知與情緒時,應納入重要的遊戲成敗結構性因素以進行理論建構。因此,本研究提出雙中介模型,以遊戲結果作為自變項、四項助人意願指標作為依變項,並以情緒效價、享樂感作為中介變項,驗證其模型在兩款不同的新聞遊戲(Darfur is Dying、《急診人生》)作為刺激物況下的穩健性。本研究透過兩個不同的新聞遊戲實驗,重複驗證了享樂感對利社會行為的影響,以及其中的雙中介模型。同時,研究也基於新聞特性,強調了情緒效價在此模型中的關鍵角色。實驗共有189人參與,結果發現在Darfur is Dying實驗中,情緒效價與享樂感中介遊戲結果與利社會行為意願。但在《急診人生》實驗中,享樂感、情緒效價僅和特定利社會行為有關連,而遊戲結果並未直接或間接與任意利社會行為相關。研究推測享樂感在不同遊戲情境中,可能有遊戲結果外的不同來源,且結果對於享樂感、情緒不一定皆有影響。本研究以多刺激物進行理論模型的檢驗,提出新聞遊戲中遊戲成敗是重要的設計因素,將影響後續利他行為,為新聞實作界以及學界提供更多實證理論與機制,並且延伸利社會行為心理路徑的探索。 |
Abstract |
News games have gained traction as a tool for informing the public and encouraging prosocial behavior. By embedding players in roles and interactive challenges, these games made audiences involved in complex social issues. While prior research has emphasized interactivity, it often overlooks how game outcomes—winning or losing—shape emotional responses and behavioral intentions. This study proposes a dual mediation model where game outcome influences prosocial intention through emotional valence and enjoyment. Two news games, Darfur is Dying and Emergency Life, were used to test the model across different narrative contexts. Data from 189 participants shows that in Darfur is Dying, emotional valence and enjoyment both mediate the relationship between game outcome and prosocial intent. In Emergency Life, these effects are less consistent, and the game outcome shows no significant direct or indirect impact. Findings suggest that emotional responses to news games are context-dependent, and enjoyment may stem from factors beyond success or failure. This research highlights the need to consider game outcome structures when designing news games and contributes to understanding how interactive storytelling can promote social engagement.
