Launched in December 2006, the Journal aims to serve the rapidly expanding research community in Greater China and other parts of the world. It aspires to become a leading venue for the publication of state-of-the-art research articles and for the exchange of scholarship between the East and West. In addition to research articles, the Journal features periodic interviews/exchange with world-renown scholars in social science in general and communication in particular.

Professor Joseph Chan from CUHK is the Journal’s founding editor-in-chief. There are four editors: Professor Yu Huang, Professor Eric Ma, Professor Xiaosui Xiao and Professor Anthony Fung. Hung and Xiao are from HKBU whereas Ma and Fung are affiliated with CUHK.

Serving on the Journal’s editorial board are well-established scholars from around the world. Its co-sponsors include the following research institutions and associations from Greater China, UK and USA:
